Four Simple SEO Tactics That Work

Sometimes a simple SEO approach might be just what you need. We understand that SEO is confusing to many people. You don’t know where to start, how to correct technical issues on your site, and which next steps to choose.

So today, we want to share four of our all-time favorite simple SEO tactics that can help increase your organic website traffic.

Keywords

Anytime you begin to create content for your website, think about the exact words your potential clients might search for. For example, I am getting ready to go out for dinner, but if I search for the word dining or dining near me, I’m not telling a search engine much. It’s too general of a term and could mean many things. A search engine doesn’t know if I’m interested in American, Mexican, or Thai, and the results you will see will be all over the place. This is why looking at general terms can be deceiving. Therefore, the more words in a search phrase, the more refined results your clients will get that match them to you.

Next time you spend time creating content, whether it’s a blog article or updating a page on your website, make a list of keywords you think best relate to your content and what you think your ideal client is searching for.

On-Page SEO

Once you have keywords, you can look at refreshing your on-page SEO. What is on-page SEO? On-page SEO is a process of tweaking a page’s title, meta descriptions, tags, and internal links to improve search visibility and increase traffic.

When it comes to page titles and meta descriptions, the aim is to keep making them compelling and keyword-rich. Deliver value with a call to action that builds a long-term beneficial relationship with your ideal client and creates positive signals to Google that your website is filled with quality content.

Create Content

Does your website have a blog? There are many opportunities in a blog to use keywords that your ideal clients are searching for and that people want to read. You can use blogs to answer search questions or hear directly from your clients. You can also write from the heart about things you are passionate about, or you can write for SEO. Blogs help improve web traffic. When implemented routinely, you continue to build trust within Google. Don’t forget to share your content on social media or on your email list.

Link Building

SEO is all about building trust within Google and other search engines. And link building is one of the larger SEO tactics for off-page SEO. Link building focuses on the increasing authority of your domain by getting other websites to link to your website.

What is link building? It is a consistent tactic involving getting links from other websites back to yours. Your link-building strategy must be with sites that have relevant content. Additionally, your website needs to link back to other sites. Look for ways to get links on other sites such as local directories like Yelp, Yellowbook.com, and Google Business to create a quarterly press release, sponsorships, industry associations, guest posts, and more.
